Teacher Pages
The teacher pages include both module-specific and overarching background information and resources for teachers using the Exploring the Environment–Global Climate Change problem-based learning (PBL) modules. These resources include a teacher introduction to PBL, introduction to using cooperative learning teams, assessment tools and rubrics, and module-specific lesson planning guides. Each module features learning goals, objectives, and standards addressed.
Problem-Based Learning
Problem-based learning is an instructional strategy that promotes long-term retention, skill development, and satisfaction of students and teachers in the science disciplines. The Exploring the Environment–Global Climate Change modules help teachers give students opportunities to learn expert problem-based strategies, practice them, observe them as implemented by their peers, and experience critical review processes as a way to self-regulate and constructively critique team member work.

Thanks to funding from the NASA Innovations in Global Climate Change Education program, the popular, award-winning Exploring the Environment® website now features global climate change modules that provide a comprehensive problem-based learning approach to the study of climate science.

Located on the NASATalk website, the ETE–Global Climate Change collaborative is intended to support ongoing collaboration and sharing across the Exploring the Environment–Global Climate Change community.
