Hamburgers in the Rainforest Industry Fact A frequently asked question is: "Does the consumption of fast-food hamburgers in the U.S. promote tropical rainforest destruction?" According to The Beef Handbook, the answer is no. That is, fast-food restaurants serving customers in the U.S. do not (nor do they need to) buy beef produced in countries where rainforests are being cleared.
