Temperate Rainforest: Southern Oregon Forest
The Klamath region is a meeting ground...Yellow-cedar, Pacific silver fir, subalpine fir,
Englemann spruce, and noble fir grow no further south than the Klamath region; and foxtail
pine, gray pine, and knobcone pine reach no further north. That makes eight species. To
them add the nineteen tree species common throughout these mountains plus two found only
here, Brewer spruce and Port-Orford-cedar. This swells the total for the region to

The Coast Range of Oregon

just over 4,000 feet. Close to the Pacific shore, where rainfall averages 70 to 100 inches
